The catch here is that it has to first be prescribed by the doctor before one can even use it. When one gets his prescription from the doctor, he has to take it to the state health department to get it approved before he can use cannabis.
Now this bill does not just allow any sick person to take this drug legally. One of the main conditions that would be stated in the bill is that one would have to undergo a background check first. The authorities would want to check for a criminal record or a record for drug abuse before allowing one to use this substance.
Of course when it comes to where he uses the drug, there are a few restrictions that users must follow. First, he is not allowed to use it in public transportation like buses or trains or anywhere near school areas. Also, he cannot use it in places where there is a huge volume of people that may be affected by the smoke.
Now the name of the bill is Koozer Kuhn Medical Cannabis Act and has been named after Piper Koozer. For those who do not know, Piper Koozer is a two year old girl who has a condition that makes her body undergo serious seizures from time to time. However, her parents were able to lessen the seizures by using an oil that had some parts of cannabis in it.
It was because of this child that Sherry Jones tried to pass the bill in the last year. However, he was not able to succeed in passing it as the top did not agree with his point of view.
